Welcome and Hello

Hello,

I am taking this opportunity, and blog post, to say hello and welcome. I have been running my own private practice for a good few years now, but I have only recently created my website. It has been a lot of work to get from an idea to where it is now, but here we are. The website is at a point where I am comfortable and confident in it and I can push it to the wider world.

The purpose of this website is primarily to allow for an online booking system for my private practice. This will help avoid those back-and-forth emails with clients around trying to align schedules. However, I wanted this website to be far more than just a booking system. My website is, and will continue to be, a source of information and sharing of experience. I want it to be a location where people can come to get information and resources to help their well-being, and for that not to come at a cost. At the time of writing, you will find three different styles of blog posts: a post on Executive Dysfunction, a post reviewing the book Eight Keys to Recovery from an Eating Disorder, and a post Exploring Emotions. Going forward, I aim to keep posts coming every Monday and these will be the same styles as you can already see, informative articles on subjects surrounding mental health, book reviews, and explorations of emotions.

It is an odd experience making and publishing a website about yourself and your work, and when I first hit that publish button it was a very sobering experience, it felt like a big and important step. My hope for this website is to enable my practice to grow and enable me to share my thoughts, experience, and education with wider audiences, providing resources to all, and counselling to those who want it.

Be kind to yourself,

Alistair
