New Office & New Availability
Having my own therapy space as been a plan of mine for a long time, and finding not only the right space but also the right time to begin this journey has been difficult. Yet, here we are after all the umming and ahhing, back and forth, designing and redesigning we have the mostly final product.
I put a lot of effort in to designing a space that would feel like a cosy, welcoming environment for all my clients. A space that would be both professional but also personal, and I think I have achieved that. No doubt this space will change as time goes on, but the general shape and layout is here and ready to be used. So what does this all mean for me, my practice and most importantly my clients?
Well, the biggest change will be that my private practice clients have a physical space to use if they wish to come see me in person, whilst these pictures also help to provide a greater understanding of the space beyond the view of the camera for their remote sessions. In addition to this, my hours of availability are greatly increasing. I have decided to expand the hours I am available to the following:
Tuesday Morning - 0930 - 1230 - Sheffield Central Counselling
Tuesday Afternoons - 1400 - 2000 - Alistair Thain Counselling
Wednesday - 1330 - 2000 - Sheffield Central Counselling
Thursday - 1430 - 2000 - Sheffield Central Counselling
Friday - 0900 - 2000 - Alistair Thain Counselling
Whilst my hours with Sheffield Central Counselling are not changing, my private practice hours are growing and stretching in to the evening on both Tuesdays and Fridays. Which should hopefully allow for more options for those who need the flexibility.
Additionally, this new space and time will allow me to work on my professional development and expand on my understanding and therapeutic technique. What does this mean for my clients? Well, therapy is more than just the hour you spend with your therapist each week. There's all the work that the client does between sessions, but there is also the work the therapist does between sessions. This can take many different forms, but often it will involve reading up on certain topics, or expanding knowledge with online courses or seminars. Having this new space allows me to have a distraction free space to focus on learning and understanding. The world is an ever-changing place, and therapists need to be able to change alongside it.
